Distance to Subway
Would be a really cool field to add to search. Subways are the lifelines of the city.

Foresee the movement of hipsters flock...
Could be nice asking job ( developer, artist, bartender...) and style (bohemian, gothic, hipster...), so you can filter the search for interest, also know where the hipster move can let you speculate on upcoming area.
I'm a PHP ninja and certified G Map developer and entrepreneur, drop me an email to talk about it with a coffee.
2 votesYou think like we do! We want to RentHackr to be the best source for the story behind the rental market in cities. Thanks for your feedback!

Add ability to update my apartment details
After entering details for my current apartment I don't see any way to update it or change its status
2 votesHey Franklin,
Thanks for your suggestion to make RentHackr better. We’re working on rolling out this ability, along with a host of other improved features, to be released this quarter. Stay tuned for a better RentHackr!

photos of apartments.
I would love to have the option of uploading a photo or two.
4 votesYou’re absolutely right. We have photos coming up soon in our product roadmap. Sorry they’re not there yet. Thanks for bearing with us during these early stages. And thanks for checking out RentHackr and sharing your feedback!

reviews
it would be great for people to leave tips, like on foursquare, to know some pros and cons to the unit. like 'they're building a bar outside my window' or 'joe the landlord is super responsive.'
1 voteThe challenge with apartment reviews is that there isn’t enough volume, and that the majority of people that do review tend to be voicing complaints. We plan to offer some tags or short text about places to test how they get used, and build from there. Thanks for your feedback!

Consider Other Screen Sizes
Just wanted to let you know: I'm on an 11" MacBook Air, and the text on the right gets cut off! Right around "So let us know what you think, and please help ... "
I hope I'm not missing anything!
1 voteWe’ll optimize for all screens in our next iteration coming soon. Thanks for letting us know.

Aidan you are an all-star! We’re planning to enable renters to add pictures of their places in the near future. Thanks again for your suggestions!

Require users to post floorplans/measurements
It's really hard to find floorplans, and agents are inherently incentivized to not give them out.
1 voteMost renters don’t know the square footage of their apartments, let alone have access to floorplans. But we agree, it would be great to have this data for users!

apt size inputs
Apartment size inputs don't account for people who are putting up a wall in their apartments
2 votesHi itsfayjo,
Thanks for checking out RentHackr and for your suggestion. I’m not clear, though. Are you asking for RentHackr to ask for square footage, or are you asking for more choices in the apartment types? What is an example of what you’d like to see?
Thanks

add rent stabilization
allow people to indicate whether their apartment is rent stabilized
1 voteHey Katherine!
thanks for checking out RentHackr and for suggesting we include rent stabilization as a data point. We’ve been thinking this over, and we will test this out in the future. -
Add support for sublets
I'd like to be able to advertise that we're interested in making known that we're interested in subletters. (Obviously, whether it would work is another matter).
1 voteThanks for checking out RentHackr and for suggesting your idea about sub letters, Jon. I’d like more input from customers on this one, and we’ll see what we come up with at RentHackr HQ.

Thanks for checking out RentHackr and for your suggestion to remove stale apts, Ignacio! You’re right on point, we’re going to clearly differentiate between old leases and new ones in the future. We hope to minimize all stale data in the future, too.

Allow current non-renters to search apartments
Not everyone searching to rent is currently renting. Someone may be moving out of a dorm or might own their own place but selling, etc. Currently there's no way to search without first entering your current rental info.
30 votesWe’re working on ways to allow access to non-renters. Thanks for checking out RentHackr and for sharing your suggestion!
